Commissioned by the bristol school of acting to showcase the talents of their first ever graduating screen acting degree students, in june 2024, lís was made to a very specific brief.

The experienced hod’s on the crew filled their teams with students from Bristol’s prestigious boomsatsuma creative industry college, while the award-winning and experienced sound post production team from films@59 was mixed with mentored team members.

It was a privilege to work with these incredibly talented bright young stars of the future - and i look forward to watching them go on to do great things, both in their lives and careers.

Stephanie is awful. a cheater and a liar all her life - she desperately wants to get ahead, and won’t allow anyone or anything to get in her way. She is a predator in a world full of idiot prey. But one night she takes a wrong turn and makes a deal she cannot get out of. with a predator far larger than her. Now she has to face the terrifying consequences.

Lís was written both before and after I became a mother and so it straddles both worlds: womanhood versus motherhood. Desire and yearning versus fear and vulnerability. I wanted to use a universal old-world theme to describe the dissonance between the two identities, and to express the change in my own way of seeing the world since becoming a mother.
